Financial Options and Futures
Over the last decade financial options and futures have become indispensable tools in the most highly developed international financial markets. As a result, IEB has decided to offer a new edition of its prestigious "Advanced Specialisation Programme in Financial Options and Futures.”
After presenting an overview of a few basic theoretical concepts, the Programme delves into the most frequently used option valuation models, examining the strategies that such models make available. Subsequently, the specific operations of the different derivative markets will be discussed, making special reference to the latest developments in the field. Students will be made aware of the contribution that an in-depth knowledge of financial options and futures can make to the risk management process. Next, a detailed analysis will be made of the new kinds of derivatives being traded in the main international financial markets, paying special attention to over-the-counter (OTC) products and “exotic” options. The Programme will also look into currently existing mechanisms to control the risk of derivatives and will describe their most significant fiscal and accounting aspects. In addition, the most popular real time information systems (BLOOMBERG, INFOBOLSA POWER STATION, UNIRED, ECONOMÁTICA and MATLAB) will be used throughout the Programme in order to create a permanent connection between the students and the financial markets. The faculty comprises first-rate professionals with expertise in each of the markets covered by the Programme.
